The twelfth All Bengal Swimming Competition for the Sightless was held today at Rabindra Sarobar at the pool of Life Saving Society. This annual aquatic meet is being organized by Blind Persons’ Association since 2006. The number of participants is increasing every year. This time 178 sightless participants competed in the pool for prizes.
There were two events, freestyle and backstroke, for two age groups and both for boys and girls. Among the distinguished guests on the occasion were renowned archer Smt. Dola Banerjee and former international cricketer and commentator Smt. Shrirupa Bose.
