CliffsNotes on Miller’s Death of a Salesman is our new release in Braille. Compiled by Jennifer L. Scheidt, this CliffsNotes in Braille should be useful as a study guide to numerous students using Braille. We know, students with visual disability can hardly find text books in Braille. Getting extra materials and reference books in Braille is a far cry. Keeping in mind the shortage of study materials in Braille, we started producing Braille editions of CliffsNotes books in Braille some time back.

The Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller (October 17, 1915 – February 10, 2005)is taught in many colleges in India. This classic of American theatre, published in 1949, represents the time of uncertainty and anxiety. The Loman family – Willy, Linda, Biff and Happy – is typical of the average American Family who suffered from the worries of the restless thirties and forties. Willy Loman, the salesman hero of the play, wanted to shine as a salesman like his role model, Dave Singleman. However, he cannot keep up with the pressures of a salesman’s profession. He loses track of time and often resorts to some more pleasant moments of the past. Arthur Miller carefully manipulates the theme of time and space in the play. Although the play consists of the events that occur on the last day of Willy Loman’s life, the frequent flashbacks lend an extra dimension to the play, expanding the time span of the plot.

CliffsNotes on Miller’s Death of a Salesman is complete in two Braille volumes, available at the paper cost of INRnbsp;121. The book contains summary and analysis of all scenes of the play. Students will also find useful study hints, such as character analysis, critical essays and study projects in the book. You may also check other CliffsNotes guides in braille available from this Braille press.
