Sightless Swimmers Compete for Prizes

The eleventh All Bengal Swimming Competition for the Blind was held on 6th August at Life Saving Society (Rabindra Sarobar), Kolkata. Hundred and thirty-two participants from different institutions and organisations took part in this aquatic event. There were free style and breast stroke events in two age groups for both boys and girls. Smt. Amrita Das, who successfully swum across English Channel in 2010 and Shri Debasish Biswas, the first civilian from Bengal to have climbed Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjungha and Mt. Annapurna, gave away the prizes.
