We are glad to present a new audio book to our listeners, Padmanadir Majhi, the landmark novel in Bengali literature, by Manik Bandyopadhyay (May 19, 1908 – December 3, 1956). Kuber, the hero of the novel, goes out fishing in the wild and restless river Padma. But he can scarcely earn enough to sustain his family. It forces him to ask for help from Hussein Miya who takes full advantage. Hussein who is the villain of the story seems to assume the role of the real hero. He came to the fishermen community as a vagabond. He starts gathering wealth by drug trafficking, purchases an new island Maynadweep full of jungle, and builds up a colony of young and able human-beings. He dreams of a new land for which he is developing this human husbandry. It is his dream that brings Kuber, Aminuddin and many more to the colony.

This audio book is about 5 hours and 29 minutes long. Since 60 years have elapsed since the death of Manik Bandyopadhyay, his works are now free from copyright restrictions. So we have uploaded PadmaNadir Majhi in audio for free download for all listeners. We are planning to present at least one audio book free for every viewer.

    আপনাদের কারণে এখন আর বসে বসে উপন্যাস পড়তে হয় না। হাটতে চলতেই শোনা যায়। অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ।
